Opelika is a small town. We plan on waving at our customers in the grocery store for a long time, so we do it right.
Coating questions
How long does ceramic coating last?
It depends on how the car is treated and maintained: the same coating can be a two-year coating or a seven-year coating. On the Coating Club we maintain it for you every 90 days, and it's guaranteed to keep performing while you're a member. Select, For Life is guaranteed for life on that vehicle.
Does ceramic coating prevent scratches?
It helps with the light marks you get from washing, because they land on the coating instead of your clear coat. It won't stop rock chips, keys or deep scratches. Rock chips are what PPF is for. Only Select, For Life is self-healing: light scratches in it level out with heat.
Can I wash my car after ceramic coating?
You should wait 7 days after application before washing your car to allow the coating to fully cure. After that, you can wash normally using the maintenance guidelines we provide. We recommend using a pH-neutral car wash and soft microfiber towels for best results.
Does it require maintenance?
Regular washing helps any coating perform at its best: we recommend pH-neutral soap and a touchless wash when possible. On the Coating Club, a ceramic performance maintenance visit every 90 days is included, and our performance guarantee runs while your membership is active and current. Select, For Life needs no membership or maintenance plan: its performance guarantee is for life on that vehicle.
How long does ceramic coating take?
A Coating Club install takes about three hours in one of our fixed windows (8–11, 11–2 or 2–5), with same-day pickup. Select, For Life is a full working day in the shop: drop off in the morning, pick up the next day. We send photos when it's complete.
Will the coating take out swirls and scratches?
No. Every install starts with a strip wash, clay and a one-step machine polish that brings the gloss up before the coating locks it in. Light swirls may soften, but deeper swirls and scratches will still be there. Paint correction isn't something we do right now, and scratches through to the base coat need paint repair.
How is ceramic different from wax?
Wax sits on top of the paint and is gone in a few weeks to a couple of months. A coating bonds to the paint and holds for years. It's harder, it handles sun and chemicals better, and it beads water like crazy. You stop waxing for good.
What's the difference between ceramic coating and PPF?
A coating is the gloss and the easy washing. It won't stop a rock chip. PPF is a physical film that takes the rock for your paint, and it heals its own light scratches.
